Meet the Pelvic Organ Party Members

Meet the Pelvic Organ Party Members

By Denise Gittins, Founder & Creator

Please meet all of the members of the Pelvic Organ Party.  We don’t discriminate, and you don’t have to be a pelvic organ to be a part of this group of partiers!

An important thing to remember is that WE ARE ALL CONNECTED. The body is a system that in turn, is made up of many internal systems.  We’ve all heard of the respiratory system, the digestive system, and the circulatory system. And those are just some of the amazing systems we have in our body.

Let’s start by learning a little about each of these partiers we have pictured here:

pelvic organ party

Bladder: A hollow, muscular organ that stores urine from the kidneys

Rectum: A part of the digestive system and is the one who, after stool is passed to Rectum, says to you: “Hey! It’s time to find a toilet!”

Uterus: A hollow muscular organ the size and shape of a pear whose main function is to nourish a developing fetus prior to birth

Vagina: An elastic, hollow tube with soft, flexible lining that connects Uterus to the outside world

Diaphragm: A thin, skeletal muscle that is the primary muscle used for breathing

Lungs: Usually come in a pair: Right Lung has three lobes and is larger than Left Lung which has only two lobes!

Pelvic Floor: A hammock of muscles that support the pelvic organs. Each of the pelvic organs have a passage through the muscles to the outside world!
