What is Mindful Movement?

Mindful Movement:

  • Exercises performed with awareness–placing your attention on the movements of your body and your breath
  • Drawing your attention to the parts of the body enables you to gain a moment of stillness and relaxation
  • The breath supports the movements and your attention helps you feel and appreciate the subtleties of actions
  • When routines and activities that involve movement are performed mindfully, they allow the mind to focus, engage and be present
