Catherine Clark | Osteopath
Osteopathy is a form of hands on therapy that can help with pelvic joint pain and restrictions, as well as external pelvic floor release. Using techniques to address the bladder, bowel and uterus, osteopathy can help release tension within the muscular walls of these organs, and the inter-connected relationship between the pelvic organs. Osteopathic treatment can address minor adhesions in scar tissue and tension in the surrounding connective tissue, and assist with blood flow to and around the pelvis. As Osteopathy is a holistic form of therapy, treatment also includes addressing any nervous system irritation and overstimulation of the "fight and flight" (sympathetic) nervous system.
Cathy has additional training in cranial osteopathy and in working with patients who are pre- and post-partum including a certificate in ante- and post-natal Pilates. She has worked with pregnant patients with pelvic girdle pain, low back pain and insomnia.
