I offer gentle and accessible trauma-sensitive hatha yoga to individuals, couples, and small groups in person (Kingston, Ontario) and online (across Canada and the U.S.) A trauma-sensitive approach to yoga provides a safe, accepting, and non-judgemental space that allows a person to choose how they practice.
Private yoga for pelvic wellness sessions concentrate on enhancing pelvic muscle function through breath work, gentle movement, mindfulness, and education. Sessions are designed according to a person’s needs, preferences, yoga experience, and goals. A session can focus on relaxation, stretching, strengthening and/or coordination of pelvic muscles. When stress and/or trauma play a role in symptoms, calming and restoring the nervous system can be very therapeutic.
Intake includes a self-assessment of the pelvic muscles to identify issues for follow up by a healthcare provider. Privacy and discretion are assured.
I have personally struggled with my own pelvic health issues. I have used yoga, learning, and lifestyle modifications to maintain and enhance the improvements that I achieved with physiotherapy.
